Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. As a volunteer for Habitat, you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like. Volunteering is great for individuals, families, church groups, youth groups, work groups, school groups, associations, and other any other type of organization that wants to pitch-in. Here are some of the ways you can get involved:
Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa needs construction volunteers with all skill levels. Labor includes painting, framing, roofing, landscaping, finishing, and more. Construction volunteers should be prepared for an orientation session and a day of hard work and good fun! Volunteers are also needed to prepare lunches for volunteer construction workers, leading short devotions, and welcoming workers at the jobsite. Habitat is worldwide and sends volunteers to help people in other countries. Trips are organized either locally or through the national office and is open to anyone wishing to participate.
