If your organization would like to support our event we have a lot of ways you can get involved. Primarily we are asking you to support us by sponsoring students to live in Shantytown. The recommended pledge is two dollars per student per hour. If we can get 100 students to live in Shantytown for 5 hours that would mean a donation of 1000 dollars from you. We will be posting all vendors name on our website as well as having a sponsorship wall that where we will display any promotional material you might have available. In addition all registered teams will receive Shanty kits that contain building supplies and whatever promotional material you wish to provide.
In addition we would like your organization to donate a prize or two that we can use as a promotional item. We are would like to give away prizes for best Shanty and also some additional prizes for winners of races. Since teams will have a maximum of ten builders, ten prizes would be required. We would like this to be fairly substantial in order to draw people in for the event. We are also thinking about a raffle for a TV or something larger that we can give away.
We hope you will join us and Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa in putting on Shantytown 2009.
